Why You Should Learn Cloud Computing and How to Get Started with AWS

  • Speaker: Suzana Melo, AWS Community Builder
  • Level: 100 (Beginner)
  • Time: 18:25 - 18:40

Cloud computing is inevitable. It's everywhere, even if we don't always notice it - but we should. Research shows that 94% of all companies worldwide use cloud computing at some level, and this number continues to grow. So, whether you're looking to launch a career in cloud technology or expand your skills, you're on the right track. While the many paths to the Cloud could look overwhelming, they don't have to be. Let’s explore where you can start to be part of this inevitable future. Take a seat, fasten your seat belts, and let's fly to the Cloud.

About the Speaker

Suzana Melo is a full-stack developer and a certified AWS Cloud Practitioner who transitioned into tech in her 40s while living in New Zealand despite having no prior technical background. She holds a bachelor's degree in Communications and brings over 20 years of professional experience from Brazil. Passionate about fostering diversity and inclusion in tech, Suzana actively supports initiatives that empower women and underrepresented groups, mentors graduates and junior professionals to accelerate their careers, and drives tech community engagement across APAC, Europe, and the Americas. She is an AWS Community Builder, an AWS User Group Leader in Sweden, co-organizing AWS UG Skåne, and a Social Media Specialist for Women in Tech Sweden. Additionally, she volunteers in Malmö, Sweden, teaching digital skills to women from immigrant and refugee backgrounds.
