What's new from AWS. Update from the world of AWS and recent technology developments. This is a must attend presentation for those working and innovating with AWS.

18:35: Adrian Trenaman & Graham Rhodes - Gilt (http://www.gilt.com)

After a number years experience and multiple attempts at determining the best way to deploy our web applications and services to AWS, we've settled on a lightweight set of tools wrapping Cloud Formation, CodeDeploy and Docker that supports sandbox, dark canary, canary and production deployment at Gilt. In this talk I'll give a detailed overview of where we've landed

Adrian is an experienced, outspoken software engineer, communicator and leader with over 20 years of experience working with teams throughout Europe, US and
Asia in diverse industries such as financial services, telecoms, retail, and manufacturing.

He has a strong specialization in high performance middleware, messaging and application development, and is pragmatic, hard-working, collaborative and results-oriented. In the past, he has held the positions of
CTO of Gilt Japan, Tech Lead at Gilt Groupe Ireland, Distinguished Consultant at FuseSource, Progress Software and IONA Technologies, and Lecturer at the
National University of Ireland in Maynooth. He became a committer for the Apache Software Foundation in 2010, has acted as an expert reviewer to the European Commission, and has spoken at numerous Tech events.

Adrian holds a Ph.D, Computer Science from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, a Diploma in Business Development from the Irish Management Institute, and a BA (Mod. Hons) Computer Science from Trinity College, Dublin.

19:50 Brian Murray from Fineos (http://www.fineos.com)

Building a hosted offering for bricks & mortar customers (aka Using AWS without the cool new toys)”.

Brian will discuss as much as we all want to use all of the latest features released by AWS, a lot of companies are still operating on a much more basic level. Providing enterprises with an alternative to an on-premises deployment, and getting the basics right, still requires a lot of thought.
