See all- AWS Sheffield: June 2025electric works, Sheffield
AWS Sheffield is back this June! We’ll be kindly hosted once again by Cortex (https://www.cortexreply.com) at the fantastic Electric Works venue (https://www.electric-works.net). Expect two brilliant talks, great food and drink, and the chance to catch up with fellow AWS enthusiasts in a relaxed, friendly environment.
Our first speaker of the evening is Yulia Samoylova, Pre-Sales Engineer at Datadog. In her talk "Observability in Action: Making Sense of Logs, Metrics & Traces with OpenTelemetry", Yulia will break down the fundamentals of observability in modern, cloud-native applications. Whether you're trying to untangle complex performance issues or want to better understand how logs, metrics, and traces fit together, this talk is for you. She’ll show how OpenTelemetry and APM can help teams troubleshoot faster and optimise performance across a range of languages and platforms from .NET to Node.js.
Our second speaker is Paul Stack, Director of Product at System Initiative, with his talk "Automating AWS Integration with Amazon Cloud Control API at System Initiative." Paul will walk us through how his team leveraged the Cloud Control API to generate AWS integration assets dynamically, and the real-world challenges they faced. From dealing with incomplete API support to supplementing missing metadata with CloudFormation specs, this session is packed with insights for anyone building automation on AWS.
As always, our event is free and inclusive. We welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences, and technical levels. If you need accommodations or support to attend, please get in touch, we’re here to help.
