Details
Dear AWS'lers,
it's time for our May edition of the AWS UserGroup Hamburg. We again have interesting talks and also plenty of room for general knowledge exchange, socializing and networking.
Agenda:
19:00 Welcome
19:15 Talk 1) Soenke Ruempler: "Deploying a Production-Ready AWS Cloud Setup"
Let's have a look how to get your AWS setup production-ready and future-proof! For this, we roll out a secure multi-account AWS baseline and other best practises with AWS Landing Zone. We will i.e. have a look at:
- what AWS Landing Zone handles for us
- how we can adapt the baseline to our needs
- how Single sign on from existing Identity providers work (GSuite, Active Directory)
- how to roll out Service Control Policies with AWS Landing Zone
- how to import existing AWS setups
- gotchas caveats of the AWS Landing Zone
20:00 Break for discussions and networking
20:15 Talk 2) Gunnar Wrobel: "Serious deployment: Unlimited environments!"
Whatever git flow you may be following (git flow, github flow, gitlab flow, ...): At the time you deploy your branch to some environment you usually need to answer the question: “Which environment?” Typically the number of available environments is limited which will result in a number of different constraints that obstruct your deployment pipeline. What if you could eliminate this limitation by relying on an potential unlimited number of environments? The talk will detail on how to achieve this scenario relying on the cloud and tools such as AWS cloudformation.
