Lessons Learned from Migrating 500+ CloudFormation Stacks All at Once
Ever wondered which challenges you encounter when migrating 500+ CloudFormation stacks in a single move? We did exactly that and share what we've learned:
- why we chose an "all-at-once" migration strategy instead of a step by step approach,
- what risks we identified ahead of time,
- and the unexpected challenges we encountered along the way.
This specifically covers challenges with deleting and importing CloudFormation resources and reaching certain AWS limits. In the end, we'll share which improvements could have saved us some time and nerves. If you’re a developer working with CloudFormation (or infrastructure as code in general) and looking for practical insights, this talk is for you!

From ClickOps to Self-Service IT: Provisioning Multi-Account Environments on AWS with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
In this 30-minute session, we will explore how to efficiently provision and manage multiple AWS accounts using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. The talk will focus on the power of Terraform for automating account provisioning, best practices for setting up GitLab CI/CD pipelines to streamline workflows, and lessons learned from a real-world project. Attendees will gain practical insights, actionable tips, and a clear understanding of how to implement a scalable and repeatable solution for managing AWS environments with ease. Whether you’re new to IaC or looking to refine your cloud automation strategies, this session has something to offer.
