AWS IOT - Deep Dive

Agenda for the meetup

5.30 - 5.45 - Introduction

5.45 - 6.30 - Mr Luv Mehta (BitCanny) - AWS IoT

Topic Synopsis -

This talk will present a live smart home system built on top of AWS IoT core. The talk will go through the steps and the code involved in setting up a "thing" on the AWS cloud and all the aspects of interacting with it. Viewers will get a demo on how they can do an IoT project using this service by AWS. Physical-world devices can trigger events reliably and securely on the cloud.

We will also show our smart home devices and demonstrate a physical lock being accessed and a light bulb switching on using a mobile app and an Alexa echo dot!

6.30 - 6.50 - Mr Arindam Ghosh (Hyland) - Serverless Live Streaming

Topic Synopsis -

It is always a challenge to transcode any media without much computation power. On top of that, live streaming would require real time transcoding of the media.

We will discuss how using the features of AWS we can build this feature in a serverless mode, and distribute the event to millions of people again using AWS services in a secured way.

6:50 - 7:10 - Mr Aryak Sengupta (Hyland) - EKS: Underlying architecture and comparison with AWS container orchestrators like ECS and Fargate

Topic Synopsis -

In this talk, we will take a deep dive into the underlying architecture of EKS and its advantages over a self-managed k8s cluster.

We will also discuss about the scenarios where using EKS supersedes using any other AWS container orchestrators like ECS and Fargate.

7.10 - 7.40 - Closing Note by Mr. ANKIT GUPTA(AWS Community Leader,India| AWS APN Ambassador) and networking session.
