Campus Protests & Free Speech

Last week we witnessed escalating student protests across the country and on our own campus. Many students raised concerns that the response from the faculties and police to these protests infringed on their right to free speech. How should we evaluate these protests and the response to them?

In response to the protests at UT we published an open letter condemning the protesters that we attached below. We will discuss questions and objections to it, and discuss the moral and political issues involved.

We invite you to read the letter and listen to the talk by Ayn Rand below. We will talk about the content of the letter, which points we like and which we disagree with, and share our personal opinions on the subject.
