About us
Arizona AI & Emerging Technology is a free monthly meetup in the Phoenix metro for anyone building with — or just curious about — AI and what's coming next. Engineers, founders, designers, product people, and newcomers all show up.
We've run more than 140 events. Each is a single focused talk from a practitioner, followed by Q&A and open networking. Recent sessions: agentic AI in production, agent harnesses and reliability engineering, what AI acceleration does to software teams, human-centered agent design, AI and copyright, UX for enterprise LLMs, and the mental-health questions AI is starting to raise.
We meet at 1951@SkySong in Scottsdale, 5:30-7:30 PM, with the talk starting at 6:00. Free parking, pizza, and water. No pitch, no paywall — just good talks and people worth meeting.
Please review our Code of Conduct if you plan to attend.

Agentic LLMs and Software Architecture
1951@SkySong, 1475 N. Scottsdale Road, Room 151, Scottsdale, AZ, USPRESENTATION OVERVIEW
LLMs can be thought of as infinite personality simulators. I'd like to discuss how to think of interacting with AI as being similar to the "wave function collapse" generative AI strategy, and how that "quantum cloud" way of thinking about probability can guide effective use.

Building Production-Grade Agentic AI
1951@SkySong, 1475 N. Scottsdale Road, Room 151, Scottsdale, AZ, USPRESENTATION OVERVIEW
Building an AI demo is easy. Shipping an agentic system that thousands of real users depend on daily is a completely different problem. Roberto Moreno has done it — multiple times — at PLACE, including Ask Gabbi (an AI-first assistive OS inside a CRM), AI call coaching, and live lead qualification agents. This talk is the unfiltered technical and product reality of taking agents from prototype to production: reliability, failure modes, human-in-the-loop design, trust layers, and what "done" actually looks like. Key Takeaways: • The 3 failure modes that kill production agentic systems (and how to design around them) • Human-in-the-loop: when to require it, when to skip it, and how to build trust over time • Multi-agent orchestration in real workflows — what the architecture actually looks like • How to define "production-ready" for AI systems with no clear spec

AI, Engineering, Getting Things to Market
1951@SkySong, 1475 N. Scottsdale Road, Room 151, Scottsdale, AZ, USPRESENTATION OVERVIEW
'So you can build that in a day, so what?' - AI is accelerating software engineering beyond what we could imagine. This talk discusses the 'downstream effects' of this acceleration at a real company. I'd like to share what it looks like to ship 9 pages of features in a month, what that means for roles that sit below software engineering, and why more code, more product down pipe might not be your exact answer.

AI Psychosis: Sorting Real Risk from Media Hype
1951@SkySong, 1475 N. Scottsdale Road, Room 151, Scottsdale, AZ, USPRESENTATION OVERVIEW
As AI chatbots become part of daily life, clinicians are reporting cases where intensive use appears linked to delusional thinking and breaks from reality, a phenomenon now dubbed "AI psychosis." Drawing on his trauma-informed approach to mental health, Adam will unpack what we know (and don't) about this emerging concern: what it looks like, who's most vulnerable, and how to recognize warning signs. Join us for a grounded, clinically-informed take on this important topic.
