Granite Mountain/Balanced Rock
Details
This will be an event with the Meetup Group Trail Mix. Come with us as we explore one of the most beautiful mountains in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve!
This hike is rated Intermediate. We will do the Granite Mountain Loop and then go over to Balanced Rock as a side trip. The length is about 7 miles. The rock formations are similar to the Tom’s Thumb area, but an added bonus is the Giant Saguaros. This is a beautiful hike where you will see the variety of flora in the preserve.
You're encouraged to bring snacks, sun protection of some sort and you should bring at least 2+ liters of water per person and sturdy hiking footwear. You will see how beautiful the Sonoran Desert can be.
Please note that neither myself, nor any other trip leaders are professional tour guides, nor do we have any special training in first aid or rescue. You are entirely responsible for your own safety.
