This month, Jeremy Lindblom will speak about building Slack apps using PHP.

We'll build a simple Slack app in the first 5 minutes. Though building a simple Slack† application is not too difficult, there are many more details to consider once you go beyond a "Hello, world!". Additionally, Slack's protocols and provided tools are not particularly favorable to PHP developers. Jeremy will show us the essentials of Slack app development and showcase some open source tools for PHP developers that might help you on your way.

About the Presenter: Jeremy is a principal software engineer at McGraw Hill, an education-technology company. Outside of work, Jeremy likes to work on OSS PHP libraries, play video games, sing, and play with his 4 kids.

Due to COVID-19, all meetups are hosted online via Zoom until further notice. Zoom links are not posted until near the start time of the event.

†Slack is a well-known messaging/collaboration application that provides a whole suite of integrated tools, as well as ways for developers to create additional custom tools.
