What we’re about
Azure AI UG is a practitioner-led community for engineers, data and ML practitioners, architects, developers, and technology leaders working with AI, ML, and generative AI across the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
We explore how AI solutions are designed, deployed, governed, and operated on Azure — from LLMs and agents to data platforms, MLOps, and real-world production delivery.
We run:
• Bi-monthly in-person meetups in London
• Bi-monthly online events for our global audience
• Chapters across the UK, North America & APAC
Whether you’re hands-on with Azure AI services, building data and ML pipelines, experimenting with generative AI, or just starting your journey, you’re very welcome here.
Our events focus on:
• Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services & applied AI workloads
• Data platforms, vector search & retrieval-augmented systems
• MLOps / LLMOps & production readiness on Azure
• Responsible AI, governance, security & lifecycle management
• Developer experience, performance, cost & reliability
• Real-world demos, case studies & lessons learned
This community is part of the Community Stack Ecosystem, meaning members can also discover and join our wider communities across Data & AI, Cloud Platforms, DevOps, Leadership, and more. You can explore and join other events here.
Members are automatically subscribed to our weekly community newsletter via Meetup, where we share event updates, speaker call-outs, learning resources and ecosystem news. We also publish selected talks and highlights on our YouTube channel.
We’re always looking for:
• Speakers — talks, lightning sessions, demos & case studies
• Hosts — organisations able to provide welcoming community venues
• Sponsors — food, refreshments, recording or accessibility support
• Collaborators — Microsoft communities, meetups & open-source groups
If you’d like to speak, sponsor, host, or get involved, please reach out via Meetup or contact Ethan Sumner on LinkedIn.
Community Values:
This group follows the Community Stack Code of Conduct. We aim to create a respectful, inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone, across all backgrounds, experience levels and identities.

We are delighted to host this event online on the 4th of February.
Speakers and Sessions:
Speaker: Grace Briody, Solutions Engineer - Cloud, AI and Apps - Microsoft
Session Title: Secretless by default: building Azure AI agents with Managed Identity (no keys)
Description: Many orgs now disable local auth/keys, pushing Entra ID/Managed Identity everywhere. This talk shows exactly how to wire agents, Search, Functions, and Logic Apps without secrets. We’ll build a minimal agent that queries a knowledge base and triggers an action—end‑to‑end with Managed Identity. You’ll see the RBAC roles that matter, where people trip up (Search/Indexers/Cosmos), and how to debug “Forbidden” errors without falling back to connection strings.
