We are happy to announce our first 2020 Event!
This evening with great pleasure we welcome Thomas Bocek, David Duran and Justin Smith that will introduce and showcase Cross-chain Atomic Swap.
SIBEX will be joining us and will demo an atomic swap.

Titel: "A Showcase of Cross-chain Atomic Swaps"
The case study we will be presenting will address the implementation of atomic swaps for the SIBEX trading platform using hashed time-locked contracts (HTLC).
This framework creates and validates each transaction of the HTLC on the trader's own full-node, establishing full-custodianship of the asset to the trader. We will go in depth to demonstrate the process of a swap on the bitcoin and ethereum blockchains. Some more information on our guest speakers:

Thomas Bocek is co-founder and CTO at Axelra. He is also the co-founder of modum.io, a blockchain-based temperature monitoring startup. Previously, he was a Professor for distributed systems at the HSR
Hochschule für Technik Rapperswil.

David Duran is a junior blockchain developer with a focus on bitcoin who helped build the initial SIBEX platform.

Justin Smith is a technical architect of digital asset and crypto-finance infrastructure projects. He is an expert in payments and settlement infrastructure, and his track record includes the X Wallet and Z Wallet projects for Monero and Zcash. Previously, he has worked for companies including John Deere, Caterpillar, and Wolfram Research.

Axelra is a tech venture builder based in Zurich and loves to build, launch and scale digital products and services and the business around it. Axelra's approach takes 100 days from the idea to the MVP launch.

SIBEX AG is a Swiss software and systems engineering startup founded in 2019. The company develops and maintains the SIBEX peer-to-peer network, which is a novel system for transferring digital assets directly between buyer and seller without involving third parties.
