AI ASSISTED PARKING SPACE FINDER AND SMARTER CITY LAB
The City of Helsingborg is creating a data/IoT/AI lab. This lab is open to other cities and the public sector, businesses, academia, and residents. Its goal is to provide infrastructure and architecture for handling different datasets along with tools and expertise within AI.
A proof-of-concept has been developed on the Azure platform by a team at Helsingborg City led by Johan Åhlén. The goal of the proof-of-concept was to build an end-to-end solution for using AI to find available parking space:
“Every trip in a car starts and ends in a parking space. There have been several studies showing that between 25 and 30% of all traffic in large cities is so-called circulation traffic, i.e. cars looking for a parking space. There are easily available datasets pertaining to what affects the number of free parking spaces at a given time. Can AI help in reducing circulation traffic and the emissions this kind of traffic cause in our city by using these datasets?”
The presentation will show you the solution behind the scenes and how you can build your own AI parking space finder.
Presenters:
Leo Schneede – Municipal officer at Urban planning committee, responsible for traffic and parking @ Helsingborg City.
Magnus Lindhe – Product Manager | IoT, Open data & AI at Hbg Works.
Johan Åhlén – Data Overlord at Visionova Solutions. Former Microsoft MVP and founder of a couple of tech startups.
TIBI COVACI PRESENTATION
Azure CI/CD with GitHub Actions
Recently, GitHub released GitHub Actions to help you automate your software development workflows. Couple of months back, I started to help a friend on an open source project that was deployed manually, and playing around with Azure deployment centre, I stumbled upon this “new feature”, at least for me. This presentation is about my learning journey, that lead me to appreciate this hidden gem.
For almost 30 years Tibi has been active in the IT industry, and for the past 15 of those he has been very active in the dev community, being awarded by MS both the MVP and the RD title. But all this came to an abrupt stop when he decided this May 1st to join the Blue side as Azure Dev Audience Engagement Manager, which means that now he gets paid to do the things he loves, while still being an active community member!
A big welcome!
