  • 18:50 - Session: Dig a Tunnel, Close the Door. Protecting Azure Container Apps with Cloudflare
  • 19:50 - Closing

Summary:

Your container app doesn't need a public address. In this entry-level session, I'll build the alternative live with just the Azure CLI. A backend runs in Azure Container Apps with internal-only ingress, so it has no public endpoint. A second app runs Cloudflare's `cloudflared` connector, which dials out to Cloudflare and forwards traffic to the backend. The only way in is through the tunnel.
We'll also look at the Cloudflare protection layer: WAF, rate limiting, Zero Trust Access and bot controls. I'll be clear about what you need before they apply to your traffic, such as your own domain.
You don't need prior Azure or Cloudflare experience. You'll leave able to reproduce the private-backend pattern yourself.
