This is a Lunch and Learn Session - Bring your lunch and beverage of choice and join us online,
As IT administrators, we’re often told that “everything is code” — but what if you’re not a developer? In this session, I’ll share how I use Visual Studio Code as my command center for understanding and managing Azure environments without relying on full Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines.
We’ll walk through practical examples of assessing Azure resource hygiene: reviewing subscription and management group organization, checking resource group structure, and validating naming conventions. You’ll see how PowerShell, the Microsoft Graph SDK, and ARM templates can be used together directly from VS Code for lightweight provisioning and analysis.
I’ll also demonstrate how GitHub Copilot, the Azure MCP, and the Microsoft Learn Docs MCP assist me in generating accurate commands and syntax — making command-line driven tasks more efficient and approachable for IT pros. Whether you’re responsible for Azure governance, auditing, or resource cleanup, this session will help you unlock the power of VS Code as a practical tool for managing Azure — no developer hat required.
