Azure Graph and Azure Policies

Details
We are back with another in-person meetup with two relevant topics presented through two sessions: Azure Graph and Azure Policies.
For this meetup we are joined by Microsoft MVP Security & Azure Hybrid MVP Morten Waltorp Knudsen and our hosts from Wipro Denmark will also chip in with a talk. See talk details below.
Unleash the Power of Azure Resource Graph
by Morten Waltorp Knudsen
Get ready to unleash Azure Resource Graph; an Azure service designed to provide efficient and performant resource exploration.
In this session you will get deep insight on how to can query the state of your Azure resources at scale in near real-time – from portal, Azure CLI, Powershell, .NET, Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, REST.
This will be a demo-packed session with lots of samples.
You will get introduced to the PS module AzResourceGraphPS with +100 queries, you can use right away in our own environment; built by the speaker.
Level 300. Duration of 45-60 min, depending on time available
Objectives:
1) Learn the power of Azure Resource Graph to query the state of Azure Resources at scale in near real time
2) Show reallife examples of how to use the data with dashboards and alerting
3) Introduce participants to repository with +200 queries ready to use in their own environment

Azure Policy
by Andreas Lønberg, Wipro Denmark
Azure Policy is a service that monitors and enforces regulatory and business compliance standards across your Azure platform.
Through both inbuilt and custom roles, you can audit, remediate and visualise your compliance position through a dashboard.
Common use cases for Azure Policy include implementing governance for resource consistency, regulatory compliance, security, cost, and management. Policy definitions for these common use cases are already available in your Azure environment as built-ins to help you get started.
Specifically, some useful governance actions you can enforce with Azure Policy include:
- Ensuring your team deploys Azure resources only to allowed regions
- Enforcing the consistent application of taxonomic tags
- Requiring resources to send diagnostic logs to a Log Analytics workspace
Additionally, with Azure ARC, you can extend your policy based governance across other cloud providers and local datacentres.
Andreas will share how they have utilized Azure Policies within Finance, Insurrance and Healthcare.
