Blockchain and Microsoft Azure

Blockchain technology is evolving at a rapid pace. As the use of this technology expands, we are seeing this manifest in new industries. Microsoft has been a leader in this space, specifically around the enterprise adoption and use cases. Microsoft Azure is the foundation for this work and we have integrated many of the leading partners solutions to the platform. This includes core blockchain protocols as well as tooling, identity frameworks, and off chain components. In this session, we will walk through a basic understanding of blockchain, and more specifically how the enterprise chains work differently from the public chains. We will talk about how this tech has evolved, how Microsoft has been involved, the partner integrations as well as our first party work, and the roadmap for future advancements. We will also demonstrate some the first party advancements that Microsoft has been investing in.

Speakers:
Cale Teeter is a Senior Software Development Engineer at Microsoft working with partners and ISVs in blockchain technology. Cale has been at Microsoft for 6 years and works closely with the engineering groups in Azure and Developer Tools to enable the solutions that the partners are creating. Additionally, Cale works with the business development team and engineering team on the first party services that Microsoft is building in the blockchain space. Cale has worked closely to bring the Solidity language into the Visual Studio product and enabling partner solution in the Azure marketplace and github. Cale’s background includes over 15 years as a software developer in New York working with large enterprises, finance and insurance verticals and is highly passionate about driving the blockchain efforts.

Razi Rais is a Senior Consultant at Microsoft. He is a published author, speaker, trainer and seven times Microsoft MVP. Inside Microsoft he had worked in various roles including senior software engineer at Microsoft HQ in Redmond. In his current role he assists customers with design, development and running solutions on cutting edge technologies. He is heavily invested in blockchain & decentralized web technologies in general.
