Solar Eclipse 2017 - Anthony's Nose Hike

South Mountain Pass Rd., Garrison NY

Travel north on Rte 9D from the eastern end of the Bear Mountain Bridge for about 1.4 miles and turn on Manitou Rd on the right. At the T turn right on South Mountain Pass Rd. Drive .5 miles and watch for the small trail head parking on the right.

A hike to Anthony's Nose for a great view of the eclipse. We will be providing eclipse glasses for safety while viewing. Please bring your own lunch and water.

This is a moderate hike (3.2 Miles round-trip), and will last almost the whole day due to the timing of the eclipse. The eclipse will start at 1:26 PM. We will meet at the trail head at 11 AM, start the hike promptly at 11:30 AM and descend once the eclipse ends at 4 PM.

FOR NON-HIKERS;

We will meet in the Snack Shop across from the Gift Shop in the Main Lodge.

I will be there at 1:00 PM to greet you and there will be many things to choose from to do. There is a swimming pool, zoo with bears and beavers (they close at approx 4:30) , a raptor center; a carousel, a picnic area and many more things to do on the grounds. Bring a picnic lunch or eat at one of the several restaurants there. Please let us know if you are going to be eating dinner with us at about 5:30 so we may make a group reservation at the Lodge.
