The Seattle Artist League is hosting life drawing sessions with a nude model every Sunday (previously Mondays) from 6:30-9:30.
TIME:
We start on time, so please come at 6:15 to set up. We take a 15 minute stretch break approximately every hour.
POSES:
Warm ups start with 1 minute gestures, then 5, 10, and we finish at 20 minute poses.
PAYMENT:
$14 cash, check, or pre-pay online.

$1-$5 tips for the model are appreciated, but not required.
ETIQUITTE:
The most precious element in a life drawing session is the focus. Interrupt the focus and you interrupt the session. Treat it like a concert or recital. If you need to speak or move, feel free to do so, but in general the goal is to focus on the drawing.
Late arrivals and early departures interrupt the focus. We understand life happens, and we will be glad to see you whenever you can make it to the group. If you come late, knock at the door, and someone will come to greet you with a smile. If you need to leave early, please leave during a break, or between poses.
Unless you have an urgent need to maintain contact, please turn your phones off. Please no texting or emailing during sessions. If you need to contact someone, step outside. Even when the phone is silent, the light, and the loss of your camaraderie, can be distracting. During breaks, if people are on their phones, we miss an opportunity to build friendships and community.
For the model's sense of security, please do not take photographs, even if the model is not in the frame. Put the phone away, and take photos during the break.
Artists are welcome to interact with models, but avoid approaching the stage without permission. During the break, when the model is robed, amorous requests for further contact, or complements that could be perceived as sexual are not allowed. If you want to compliment a model, compliment a pose, and how it applies to your drawing. If you have suggestions for how the model could improve, direct those suggestions to the moderator.
Tips for models are appreciated, but not required. Models are paid. Appropriate tips range from $1 to $5.
Please direct any suggestions and concerns to the moderator. This can be about anything: lighting, music, poses, session times, and any issues regarding a guest or model.
