Free and open to all to attend Peter Dixon; Plant Conservation Manager; Catalina Island Conservancy Explore the unique habitats, biodiversity and history of Catalina Island and the current conservation work of the Catalina Island Conservancy. Just off the coast of Los Angeles the well known Island tourist destination is a less well known refuge of endemic species and living laboratory for native flora. We'll discuss the natural history of the Island, early plant collectors and the highly anticipated publication of the Flora of Catalina Island. As well we'll review the status of rare species and recent plant discoveries.
