MeetUp is mixing up the times.
This Meeting is every Friday, online, 6 p.m. UK/London time which equals 7 p.m. Germany/Berlin time.
Drawing for healing is a series of meetings where we will get together to work through a series of drawing exercises designed to help you examine the aspects of your life that need healing, as well as empower you and provide you with space to imagine things differently.
Each time we meet I will first welcome the group, and create an atmosphere of inclusion. About 5 minutes in, I will read out the introduction to the exercise, and then the exercise itself. Then I will leave the exercise instructions on the screen, and we will spend 15 minutes drawing and writing. Then we all regroup and share our experiences with the exercise and what came up for us. This is the most fun part of the event- hearing others deep felt experiences and seeing ourselves reflected in others is simply fascinating.
The themes of the exercises begin with making contact with our inner child. Next up we examine our mother and father characters. Then we move into reparenting ourselves with self acceptance,
by learning how to safely express the full spectrum of our emotions. To finish it up we get some exercises to boost our confidence and leave us in an empowered state as we venture out with a new sense of self.
The magic is created by using our non dominant hand to draw and write. What that does is, it activates our right hemisphere, which is our feeling and intuiting side. We completely loose ourselves in the act of receiving information, pictures and guidance directly from what seems like a higher loving power. It reconnects us again to the fluidity and send of openness we felt when we last drew freely- when we were kids.
This experience is hard to describe, but what I can say is that by drawing and receiving directly from our higher self, there is something magical that happens when this is shared in a group. We come to realize that our pains and struggles are not only our own, and by seeing different variations on our experience- we begin to put things into perspective. Sharing this with a group of strangers is one of the most healing and energizing things you will ever experience.
If you love drawing, and want to experience something truly special, meaningful and profound, I will be humbled to have you in our group.
Materials needed:
- paper, pens, crayons or any other art materials you like
- zoom
Notes:
- It's advisable to check to see that your computer and zoom are functioning 10 min prior to the event, just to avoid any technical hiccups.
- Ideally you are open and willing to share vulnerably with others not fearing judgement in a safe space. But if you are on the shy side and you need time to open up to people, you are also welcome. You can share and you also do not have to share, if you choose not to.
