Let's meet for Beers & talk: Driver's cars under 25k
Details
Car Nerds!
A question which petrol heads ask themselves is:
What kind of car should I get for pure driving pleasure? We start dozing in a daydream, with flashing images of GT86's, MX-5's, E46 M3s, or 981 Caymans. We feel wrapped in a blanket of fuzziness and love, reliving the feelings of our first time our jaw dropped while we were pointing at a 911 in amazement (what? It's just me that feels this???)
And BOOM, we wake up like on a Monday morning when our useless brain kicks in to ruin our daydream, asking us questions like: should I also think about space for groceries or my skis? What if some mates come visiting and I need proper backseats? Can I drive it for 2-week vacation in the south of Italy? Can it drive in the winter? What about resale value? And the list goes on, and on, and on, until you're left off buying a 2016 BMW M3 Touring Wagon, and feel it repeatedly crush your childhood dreams with the thick, hard army boots of reality, until your GT86 daydream turns into an amorphous mass of grey slimy matter called adulthood.
Now that you're all cheered up, let's talk about what a driver's car means to us and what are we willing to compromise in terms of driving pleasure for usability.
For example:
- What are we looking for in a "driver's car" ?
- What does it have to do, what is nice to have, what shouldn't it do?
- Speed versus the feeling of Speed: which is more important?
- Are there proper new or second hand driver's cars under 25k?
- The top 3
- Underrated driver's cars?
- Final thoughts and future discussion points
