David Vandas is a video/film director who has a passion for telling captivating stories. As a champion for the creative life he recently produced a side project that was nothing short of a full-on epic venture! WeMakeStuff - Volume 01 is a crowd-sourced, crowd-funded book publishing project that in just 4 weeks raised $41,090 CAD (using IndieGoGo). Over 1000 copies of this stunning book where distributed throughout Vancouver, showcasing one hundred creative people from the local area.

The goal was to explore the collision of creativity and faith, and clearly to also test the fortitude of David's sphere of influence as he led the charge to reach hundreds of donors, inspiring both individuals and companies to invest in this powerful project. With a vision-driven idea in his heart, and the willingness to share the highs, lows, hard work, and successes with likeminded souls, he forged ahead with a fundraising campaign that made some serious noise! Notable figures, like shoe designer John Fluevog and songwriter Brian Doerksen, rallied behind the cause, as did other influential creative movers and shakers, making this scrappy little book idea flourish into the creation of a community as much as a book. The proof, my friends, is in the pudding (aka online): http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wemakestuff-volume-01
