Testing Continued :: Conformity - Contractual - Compliance - Style - Integration

• What we'll do

This Meetup is continuing the work from last Meetup. A doodle showed that this is the time when most people could attend. The topics for this Meetup is thus the same as for the last one. The main focus is on testing at various levels.

Initial development of REST API's and initial implementation is one thing, continuing to do so whilst expanding the number and diversity of consumers and keeping those consumers happy, requires that you introduce some form of self-control, preferably automated controlling measures that helps you as a service provider to deliver perceived quality. That is things that keeps the consumer applications working. The theme for the Meetup is about the ways that can be done. More specific the areas of testing is:

• contractual testing - e.g. Pact (introduction last time)

• testing for API style (demo last time)

• performance : stress, recoverability, load e.g. using {Tsung, Apache Benchmark (ab.exe), JMeter, SOAPUI, HTTPUnit, .... }

• integration testing

• regression testing

• unit testing and e.g. stubs and/or mocks

• conformance testing

The format of the Meetup is going to be a teaser by one or more attendees and after that everyone can participate and the style for the coming meetup will be conversational style. Hope to see you there.
