Copenhagen: Create REST API’s using information about contexts and domains

Details
The goal of the evening is for everyone to get a feel for doing API modelling on the basis of a contexts and domains. Furthermore everyone should have a pretty good idea on how to take a company having a physical and internet oriented approach to do business and be able to map that into APIs and work with these API’s in a choreographed way.
A Meetup similar to this was done in Aalborg earlier and people were happy about it, and there was quite a lot of interactivity during the session.
The session I is kicked off with a very short introduction to domain driven design and then we are working with this small company who started very traditional and moved on with the commodity technologies and now has to think differently about business.
The company wants to be able to add new areas of business if they want to try out new ideas, and quickly be able to remove areas of business that do no longer seem to be profitable. We will use a domain and context oriented service oriented way of looking at their business, and attempt to provide value and enable them to succeed.
We will together look at a service API model for what they do today and then we create the API for the most important part of the business going forward.
The approach is a workshop approach, where all participants are participating in finding a concrete set of services that the business needs.
The organizer will introduce the company and their business. That will lead to one way to discover e.g. contexts, resources, domains etc. ending and having a set of service API’s supporting the business going forward.
The meetup starts at SimCorp at 17.30 and doors "closing" at 18.00.
Please write here (meetup messages) if you are coming later and wants to be picked up a little later at the front of the building.
We plan to start with food and beverages from the beginning and start the actual contents of the Meetup at 18.00-21.00
I am looking forward to a very interactive evening
Best Regards
/Allan
