Join senior executives (past and present) from the Big 5 Publishers for a discussion on the state and strategic direction of the textbook industry. We will discuss the current challenges and opportunities, both across new disruptive models and technologies in both digital and paper publishing. Panelists will also share on their past experience in structuring partnerships with early and mid-stage edtech ventures.

• Tom Scotty - co-President of MacMillan Higher Education. Previously, Tom was President of Sales and Operations at MacMillan and a long career in sales there and its predecessor Bedford, Freeman & Worth Publishing.

• Mike Evans - SVP PreK-12 Literacy and Mathematics for Pearson. Previously, Mike was President of Pearson’s student information provider (Pearson School Systems) and led K-12 software development and software product management for parts of the company and prior to Pearson, Mike was the COO of bigchalk.

• Paul Ducham - Managing Director of McGraw-Hill Higher Education. Previously, Paul held a long career in textbook publishing, including as an editorial director, at McGraw-Hill.

• CarolAnn Shindeler - A marketing leader at nearly every one of the above companies, CarolAnn currently serves as VP, Managing Director for K-12 School Publishing at Cengage Learning.
