Details
A friend of mine is hosting this conference; I thought some of you may be interested.
So, I will look at it a bit more later on; but I wanted to give a heads up now, anyhow.
Seems like it will be great! If you need me to cut red tape, just let me know.
Best regards,
Michael
21stCentury Children’s Nonfiction Conference, June 14 – 16 on the campus of the State University of New York in New Paltz, about 1 hour north of New York City, in a state-of-the-art conference facility.
The Conference is designed to focus exclusively and in-depth on children’s nonfiction – a growth area as a result of the Common Core. The Conference is a gathering of authors, publishers, illustrators, educators, teachers, librarians, and digital developers. The panels and workshops will cover new developments in bringing quality nonfiction materials into classrooms, libraries and homes. It is an opportunity to inspire, educate and connect! Our faculty includes renowned publishers and published authors of children’s nonfiction.
You can see the entire conference information at http://www.childrensNFconference.com . Cobblestone Publishing, Pearson, Highlights for Children, Charlesbridge, Time Home Entertainment, among others, will be there. We have just added an additional topic – Science Book author Melissa Stewart on a new initiative by the Uncommon Corps for classifying nonfiction based on what it does rather than what it is about. iNK Think Tank is a sponsor. A short description of the Faculty and of Conference topics is attached. If anyone would needs more information about the workshops, social events or the SUNY campus setting, let me know. The Co-Chairs and our distinguished faculty are excited about this conference. We hope you will be too! We hope you will be able to let the members of your authors’ group as well as others who may be interested know of this conference, and the great opportunity it offers for learning and for connection to the growing field of children’s nonfiction.
