Friday, July 31, 2020 we celebrate the 21st annual "System Admin Appreciation Day".

In recognition of this day, the Kitchener-Waterloo Non-Profit Sys Admin (KWNPSA) sends out this challenge to its membership. Take a couple of minutes out of your day to join this event and post a 5-word statement describing in a positive way the life of a sys admin working in the not-for-profit world. For example: "Champion gatekeeper of the needy!"

Why celebrate Sys Admins on this day, and especially those working for/volunteering to non-profits? Non-Profit Sys Admins dedicate their lives to working at maintaining the operations of non-profits often times in obscurity, save for the times when an emergency erupts. Without these dedicated individuals most non-profits would find it difficult, if not impossible, to manage.

So, let's take some time to celebrate all Sys Admins starting today and leading up to end-of-day this Friday July 31st and lay it all out there -- say something good about your sys admin or say something about yourself as a sys admin! We would like to hear it.

Some basic rules apply:

  • this challenge is open to members of the NetSquared Kitchener/Waterloo Group only
  • you must join-attend event
  • post as comment a "5-word statement" describing in a positive way the life or state of a sys admin working in the not-for-profit world. For example: "Champion gatekeeper of the needy!"
  • only 1 comment post allowed per member -- no multiple posts please
  • this challenge runs from Wednesday July 29 - Friday July 31 (midnight - UTC/GMT -4)

As thanks for your participation, NetSquared Kitchener-Waterloo (KWNPSA.CA), will enter the name of each person having posted, as per the "basic rules" above, into a draw of ONE recognition prize (we are still working on this, but yeh, it will be related to sys admin work of course).
