Results UK: London volunteers monthly meetup
Details
This is the monthly London meetup event for Results UK volunteers: people from all over London who want to bring about the real, top-level political changes needed to end poverty everywhere.
Results UK is a movement of passionate, committed volunteers working together towards our shared goals. Together we use our voices to influence political decisions that will bring an end to poverty. Our campaigners receive training, support, and inspiration to become skilled advocates. In time, they learn to effectively advise policy makers, guiding them towards decisions that improve access to education, health, and economic opportunity.
We have regular meetups in central London to discuss monthly actions, support each other in contacting MPs and planning advocacy events. There's lots of opportunities to get involved, however small or large a time commitment you want to make.
Anyone is welcome to join, but campaigning with Results UK is especially useful for people looking to build a career in international development, students, people who want to make a difference, people with skills in blogging or social media, and anyone looking for meaningful, impactful volunteering opportunities.
This month's event takes place in the Silver Cross pub on Whitehall. We have a table booked for the group - look for the red Results logo on the table.
The meetup will begin with introductions (so it's helpful to turn up on time if you're able to) and then we will discuss plans for the London group and work together on this month's campaign. If you can't make it for 6.30pm don't worry about arriving late, someone will help you get started and up to speed on the current campaign. We suggest bringing a laptop to help with research, letter drafting and taking notes.
If you're new to Results UK, we recommend learning more about the organisation here and then checking out the action materials for this month's action beforehand. We can't wait to see you in person!
