This month's theme is filmed adaptations of The Who's rock operas. Films to be discussed are Tommy (1975) and Quadrophenia (1979).

Tommy, directed by Ken Russell, is about a psychosomatically blind, deaf, and mute boy who becomes a master pinball player and, subsequently, the figurehead of a cult.

Quadrophenia, directed by Franc Roddam, is about Jimmy Cooper (Phil Daniels), an angst-ridden London youth who escapes the drudgery of his postal job as a member of the Mods, a sharply dressed gang constantly at odds with their rivals, the Rockers.

Please watch the films before joining discussion. To locate streaming options, I recommend justwatch.com.
