Swing Dancing!

There hasn't been enough swing dancing lately and March 26th is my birthday so let's dance! I also hear a lot of you have started taking lessons! Here is a chance to practice what you've learned! Also remember any new people are always welcome!

Tips and Questions

I can't dance?

Don't be afraid if you don't know how to swing dance or dance at all(Everyone is capable of dancing). They give a lesson included in the entry price an hour before the dance so you'll have a few moves under your belt. They also provide a few dancers that will dance with people who just learned with a large smile. Even then most people that attend this event enjoy new dancers!

I'm certainly not the best on the dance floor but I'll be willing to dance with anyone that comes to make sure you have someone to dance with. It's a social dance though you are supposed to rotate partners every song. (This is a good thing because then the girl doesn't know I only know enough moves for one song.)

What to wear?

As a few others have mentioned you are going to be moving and sweating a lot. Please wear something comfortable that allows a lot of movement and breathes well.

As far as shoes go if you have leather or suede soled shoes wear those because you want to slide on the dance floor a little bit. If you do not. Don't despair! There is a super cheap fix that I still use! Duct taping the bottom of your shoes is cheap and good enough fix for one night of dancing. I'll be bringing a roll or two for those that want to take that route.

What to bring?

As others mentioned sometimes heat is an issue because of all the activity. I normally bring an extra shirt because I imagine I'm really gross to hold onto after a few dances not that most follows care. I just try to be nice.
