Let's discuss European Funding for Entrepreneurs

This is the first Meetup of Euorpean Innovators. After I will introduce the SME-Instrument in Horizon 2020 Laura from EuropeanPioneers will explain how their FIWARE Accelerator-Program works. Highly-innovative projects funded by the SME-instrument will receive 50k (Phase 1) or 500k-2,5 Mio. € (Phase 2). You don't lose equity and you don't have to pay the money back! Startups selected for the Accelerator EuropeanPioneers will receive a funding of 50k up to 250k € per project - plus coaching, network and technology support.

Kumardev Chatterjee, Founder and President of the European Young Innovators Forum, will give you tipps via a video about Horizon 2020. Kumardev has been involved in the design and setting up of the Horizon 2020 SME instrument over the last three years and has as a European commission appointed independent expert evaluated proposals for the European Commission for a €20 Million grant portfolio in 2013.

After this, Joel Dullroy co-founder of GroupEstate, a Berlin-based startup that successfully applied for a Horizon 2020 Phase 1 grant, will tell you how they wrote their proposal. GroupEstate is an online platform for shared property, helping groups of friends, family and others join together to buy or build real estate. The website allows individuals to start a project, find collaborators, and organize their joint property purchase. By helping groups to buy or build a home, GroupEstate will enable the concept of community-organized home ownership to grow. Joel wrote GroupEstate's Horizon 2020 application, and can give tips on how to succeed.
