2019 MoveIt! China Developer Workshop

We’re excited to announce that MoveIt! China Developer Workshop will be held on Jan 16, 2019 in Suzhou, as follow up of 2018 World MoveIt! Day (WMD), led by Intel (China) Ltd., the People's Government of Xiangcheng District Suzhou and China Association of Small and Medium Enterprise High-Tech Industry Branch, and Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation Alliance (AIIIA). WMD is an international hackathon to improve the MoveIt! code base, documentation, and community. We hope to close as many pull requests and issues as possible and explore new areas of features and improvements for the now six year old framework. Beginners are welcome to join us to review the tutorials and get immediate help when needed.

MoveIt! is state of the art software for mobile manipulation, incorporating the latest advances in motion planning, manipulation, 3D perception, kinematics, control and navigation. It provides an easy-to-use platform for developing advanced robotics applications, evaluating new robot designs and building integrated robotics products for industrial, commercial, R&D and other domains.

MoveIt! China Developer Workshop will be held in Suzhou ZAISHUIYIFANG Hotel (http://en.waterfront-hotel.cn/) at XiangCheng District. Expected attendees of this workshop include MoveIt!/ROS community developers, industrial robot developers, technical experts from industrial companies in industrial robot arm, cobot (collaborative robot), machine vision, motion control, smart manufacturing, etc.

Additionally, there will be online video streaming for all of the technical presentations of morning session, starting from 9:30am, for developers who can’t attend onsite session. Reminder: recommend attendees to take laptop with ROS Kinetic + Ubuntu 16.04 (or ROS Melodic + Ubuntu 18.04) for hands-on lab activities of afternoon session.
