Parking is $20 per car so you'll want to carpool! Take a look at the RSVP list and reach out to others to form a carpool to share the cost of parking.

Let's try this again! Last time it was very cold and windy! An exploratory hike to Loch Lamond Overlook from St. Mary's Glacier Trailhead. We will hike the 6.5 mile round trip above the glacier and into the wide alpine tundra.

This is not a beginner hike and you must be able to complete the entire trail and stay with the group.

The trail is rocky and loose from the beginning until we reach St. Mary's Lake where it levels out for a while. Then it'll be a slow, steep and rocky climb to the tundra. Poles are very helpful. As we go we'll have great views of Mount Bancroft and James Peak. At the junction is Kingston Peak Trail, we'll go left heading south to the Rock House (a big pile of rocks) or Loch Lomond Overlook. It's near the edge of the James Peak Wilderness and is full of epic views!!! Resting at 11,200 feet in elevation, the Loch Lomond Overlook is connected to Reynolds Lake, Steuart Lake, and Ohman Lake with many cascading creeks and waterfalls in the area.
