Frederick's Miners Day Pack Burro Race

Details

It's been a few years since a group of us met and observed the parade and burro race! The 8th Annual Frederick Miners Day Pack Burro Race celebrates Miners Day! This great sport was started by some of Colorado’s 19th-century miners. This is one leg of the Western Pack Burro Ass-ociation race season! Races occur in several locations across Colorado.

We'll watch the parade followed by the start of the 10K race (between 10:30 & 11 am) before we head to the finish line at the park.

We won't be participating in the race, just observing!

Meet the group at Centennial Park (corner of 8th & Locust) where we'll make introductions and walk together to the parade location (5th & Locust). At the finish of the parade, we'll walk back to the park to watch the racers/burros at the finish line!

Bring your own coffee, food and water to enjoy while we meander around! There may be some food trucks available! You might want to bring a lightweight tri-pod chair or pad to sit on the sidewalk.

See you there!

Important Note: This is a participate at your own risk event!
