Happy New Year! Let's hike the Patrick House Trailhead, a moderate 4 mile loop (500 feet of elevation gain) connecting the Genesee Mountain, American Bison Trail and Bison Meadow Trails. If we're lucky we might get to observe the bison being fed and capture some close up pictures! Bring a snack to enjoy at the summit. Consider an optional lunch after the hike at Guidos Pizza https://www.guidospizzagolden.com/menu-pics

Dog free hike...please leave your baby dogs at home for Baby Boomer hikes.

Directions to the Trailhead: I-70 West to Chief Hosa Exit 253. Turn left at the exit, drive over the highway to Genesee Mountain Lane and turn left. Follow signs to the parking area for the Patrick House Trail. There are bathrooms at the trailhead.

What to bring...Colorado weather changes quickly! Please come prepared with appropriate hiking clothing, waterproof boots, hiking poles, microspikes, backpack and food/water. Make sure you have in your pack in case you need it - extra warm layers, wind pants, warm hat, extra gloves, and extra socks. Make it the best experience possible by being prepared!

See you there!
