🎲 Canada Team Tournament — In Partnership with CBGA
We're excited to announce the first Canada Team Tournament, an online backgammon team competition open to clubs from coast to coast, running July through September 2026.
This is your chance to represent your club, compete against the best teams in Canada, and bring the prize home.

🏆 HOW IT WORKS

Teams compete in a round robin format — one round per week, with a deadline each week to complete your matches. The team with the most points at the end wins the full prize pool.
Each round is worth 7 points across 5 match formats:
• Win & Skill — 2 pts (1 pt for the win + 1 pt for PR)
• Consultation (Doubles) — 2 pts
• Speedgammon — 1 pt
• DMP (best of 2 out of 3) — 1 pt
• 11-Point Match — 1 pt
The captain sets the player seeding for each round.

👥 YOUR TEAM

Each team consists of a captain + 4 players. A sub is optional but strongly encouraged — if a player can't compete in a given week, the captain can play the sub in their place for that round.
Your full roster of up to 6 is declared at registration and locked for the entire tournament. No changes after that.
Each club may enter one or more teams.

💰 ENTRY & PRIZE
——————————————————
Entry fee: $250 per team by e-transfer. The captain is responsible for submitting the team entry fee.
Optional side pool: Any player may add $50 to a side pool. The entire side pot goes to the highest-ranked team among side pool participants.
Prize: 90% of all entry fees goes back to the winning team.
