Let's explore a remote area of the Peruvian Andes with an adventure into the Cordillera Huayhuash. This hike has been ranked as one of the best alpine trekking circuits in the world and features some of Peru's tallest mountains. The hike is considered high elevation over its entire length with average altitudes of 13,000-14,000', passes reaching nearly 17,000', and mountains standing at nearly 22,000'.

We'll fly into Huaraz, Peru, which sits at an elevation of just over 10,000', and spend a few days adjusting to the altitude. This will include several higher altitude acclimation hikes in the area. We'll hike the Huayhuash, then head back to Huaraz to fly out.

This adventure is for experienced backpackers familiar with the elevation implications.
