Solstice in Desolation Wilderness - Velma, Schmidell, Aloha, Gilmor, Dicks Lakes

1. This is a 3 days/2 nights and ~22 miles backpacking trip. The first couple of miles are physically challenging. After that, it gets easier.
2. You must be an experienced backpacker to join and be able to maintain a pace of 2.5 miles/hour with a pack on a flat trail.
   Itinerary -
3. Day 1 - Climb up from the Eagle Falls Trailhead and head SW along Eagle Falls Trail. Lunch and swimming break at Middle Velma Lake. Head west on Velma Trail through Campers Flat and then head to Lake Schmidell for the night. ~7.5 miles.
4. Day 2 - Head south to Lake Aloha for lunch, lounging and swimming. Head east to Heather and Susie Lake and camp at Gilmore Lake. ~8 miles.
5. Day 3 - Head North on the PCT up to Dicks Pass (long but low grade climb) and then down to Dicks Lake for a break and then back down to the parking lot. ~6.5 miles.

7. COST: $10 plus a $90 deposit that will be refunded to you if you do the trip
8. RSVP'ing does not guarantee participation, payment does (after phone conversation).

10. Details re equipment, carpooling etc. will be discussed on a mandatory pre-trip conference call.
11. Please do not RSVP before we speak and the deposit is paid.
12. You are responsible for your own transportation. Carpooling is optional.
13. I (Daniel Shefer) reserve the sole right to modify the trip itinerary as I deem necessary at any time.
14. Bear canisters are required on this trail. No pets allowed.
