The Lost Coast, an Epic Backpacking Trip

Hike the Lost Coast Trail, Matthole to Black Sands Beach. This is an epic trip!
The Lost Coast is part of California's most undeveloped stretch of shoreline through the King Range Wilderness. It is an 80 mile stretch of the California coast where the builders of Highway 1 decided to go around because it was too rough. As parts of this route pass over beaches, it can be impassable at high tide so the detailed itenerary will be set the week prior.

1. DO NOT RSVP BEFORE SPEAKING WITH ME!
2. This is a 3 days/2 nights ~25 miles backpacking trip down the Lost Coast.
3. You must be an experienced backpacker to join and be able to maintain a pace of 2.5 miles/hour on a flat trail.
4. Itenerary - the trip starts with a shuttle to the trailhead. The rest of the itenerary will be set based on the tides table.

6. BEFORE YOU RSVP - EMAIL ME FIRST - reachdani @ gmail.com to coordinate a call to discuss the trip, your backpacking experience, fitness level and equipment, all to make sure you can complete the trip safely and enjoy it. Please include your phone number and specific times that work for you for a call. I.e. "Monday" is not specific, "Monday between 4 and 6 PM" is.
7. A $100 deposit for this trip is required. You will get a $85 refund if you participate in the trip or if I cancel the trip for any reason. In addition, you will need to make a shuttle reservation that costs ~$100.

9. Details re equipment, carpooling etc. will be discussed on a mandatory pre-trip conference call on May 26th.
10. You are responsible for your own transportation and shuttle reservation.
11. I (Daniel Shefer) reserve the sole right to modify the trip itinerary as I deem necessary at any time.
12. No pets allowed.
13. Weather may cancel.
