- This is a 4 day/3 night, ~39 miles, ~7,600 ft vertical backpacking trip.
- This trip starts on a Thursday and you should stay at a nearby campsite the night before if you live more than several hours away.
- You must be an experienced backpacker to join and be able to maintain a pace of 2.5 miles/hour on a flat trail carrying a backpack.
- Note that this trip includes climbing over Glen Pass which is ~12,000 ft. This is not a trivial climb with a backpack.
- Itenerary - We will be doing this route counter clockwise.
- Day 1 - Starting at the Bubbs Creek trailhead, we will pick up our permit and head 2 miles east to Charlotte Creek to start our climb. We will camp at Charlotte Creek or the Lake Reflection Junction area. ~ 10 miles.
- Day 2 - Continuing to climb, we will climb up towards Glen Pass, stopping at BullFrog Lake for lunch and then up to Glen Pass and down to Middle Rae Lake for the night.
- Day 3 - From this point on, we mostly descend. We will head north, then west, then south to North Paradise Valley. There is a river crossing here. Camp for the night. ~10 miles.
- Day 4 - Head south towards Bubbs Creek along the South Fork of the Kings River. We will stop for a swim before we meet Bubbs Creek and then complete the trip with the last 2 miles to the parking lot.
