Backpack Gorgeous Yosemite!

Details

I have a permit for backpacking in Yosemite. The entire hike is gorgeous and we will see every waterfall at the far east end of Yosemite Valley! This is a classic backpack in the heart of beautiful Yosemite.

July 13th - We will meet at McDonalds in Colfax or at the backpacker's campground in the east valley behind the North Pines campground.

July 14th - We will take the shuttle to Glacier Point. and then backpack from Glacier Point on the Panoramic Trail and camp at a water crossing. This is a gorgeous area! https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/sentinel-dome-glacier-point-and-illilouette-falls

July 15th - We will backpack to Nevada Falls, relax there for some of the day and then backpack to Little Yosemite Valley on the Panoramic Trail and camp there.

July 16th - We will day hike Cloud's Rest and explore the area. Then, we will camp again at Little Yosemite Valley. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/clouds-rest-trail-from-yosemite-valley. (Note this link is coming from the valley, not Illilouette Falls, but it gives you the details from Nevada Falls.

July 17th - We will backpack out on the John Muir trail to Happy Isles and drive up to May Lake and backpack in one mile to camp there, https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/may-lake--7

July 18th - We will hike Tuolumne Peak and camp again at May Lake.

July 19th - We will backpack one mile out and day hike Lembart Dome 3.8 miles round trip, https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/lembert-dome-loop and camp at backpacker's campground in Tuloumne Meadowns,

July 20th - Explore Tuloumne Meadows and then drive home

We are hiking every day but they aren’t long hikes and it’s not a lot of elevation gain so we will have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the scenery. If we get tired we can modify the agenda and take rest days

Our agenda is flexible. Another option is to continue from Clouds Rest to Cathedral Lakes and Tuolumne Meadows and take the shuttle back to Happy Isles.

It will be a slow, "picture taking" pace. about one mile an hour when backpacking and two miles an hour when hiking. I'd like the group to stay together at this slow pace.
