At Overheard, we invite you to get up and tell a 5-7-minute true story on the selected theme. Come ready to write your name on a slip of paper and throw it into the hat! If your name is called, you’ll stand up and share a true story that could only have happened to you.

There’s a chance we might not have time for everyone who signs up to share, but don’t worry—at the end, we’ll invite these brave souls to tell us the first, last, or best line of their story. Leave us feeling sorry we didn’t get to hear it!

October is the spooky season, and since our next event is on Halloween, we wanted to pick a spooky theme. Come ready to share stories on the theme…In the Dark!

Have you ever been afraid of the dark? Maybe you’ve had a weird, scary, or dare I say sexy experience when the lights were low? Do you become a different person under the cover of darkness? How did you cope with that blackout in Spain earlier this year?

Alternatively, you can take the theme less literally and tell us about a time you were “in the dark” or without information that everyone else had. What happened? What should you have known? How did you handle it?

Whatever your story, we’re waiting for you to step up to the mic and tell it!
