What we’re about

Can't draw a stick-man? Or maybe you can, but you've got enough art block to make you afraid of pencils! Skilled or not, the Bad Art Alliance is determined simply to help you DO.

I believe the creative process is vital to wellbeing, but too often, the value placed on outcomes keeps us afraid of trying at all. This group values people above outcomes, providing a safe space to free yourself from the pressure of making “good” art. Suitable for all skill levels (yes, all—because this isn’t about skill).

Not sure what this is all about? Come anyway! Connect with real people, experience authentic acceptance, and make some absolutely awful art with us.

What to expect at meet-ups:
I will bring various art/craft supplies for everyone to use, you are also welcome to bring your own too. Depending on the turnout, I might offer some light structure/guidance, or we can just create freely. In either case, I will be participating as well as facilitating (I need the accountability to create too!).
This is only the start, I have no doubt this group will take a shape of its own but for now I can see this being a regular, low-stakes activity to help people break free from their routines.

Art supplies you can expect: pencils, oil pastels, chalk pastels, acrylic paint, watercolours, air-dry clay, collage stuff, pens, markers, re-painted canvases, paper, and a variety of relevant tools.

Any incurred costs will simply be a reflection of the fees of hiring spaces, and replenishing art supplies
