Second Tri-Valley Chess Night: Free Play, NoviceLessons, Speed Chess with Prizes

Details

We had 15+ adult players of varying levels show up at the first meeting of our Tri-Valley Adults Chess Club last week!

Come join us for casual play with prizes, whether you are:
- Online player looking for a more social IRL experience
- Chess parent wanting to connect and keep up with their kids
- Current or returning tournament player
- Curious beginner

We provide a non-intimidating, friendly environment to exercise your brain with local adults (19+) of all levels. Good vibes, (not so) bad chess... :)

Pickleball of the Mind: there is open play, lessons for novices, and casual tournaments ranging from blitz to bughouse to Chess960, all with small cash prizes.

5:30 - 6:30 PM - free play, beginner lessons, registration
6:30 - 8:30 PM - 4-round unrated rapid chess tournament (Game/10, 2 sec delay) with cash prizes in both the Experts and Novices divisions

Free entry this summer, thanks to our sponsor, Ava Community Energy

Who We Are: Emerald Hills Chess is a Dublin non-profit whose mission is to create community and camaraderie through healthy competition. We teach chess to 300+ kids and also hold USCF-rated tournaments that draw 100-150 players each month.
