Once again, folks, we have another film that was heavily panned upon release but has seen positive re-evaluations due to its status as a cult classic.

Showgirls is a 1995 drama about a young woman who wishes to have a successful career as a... um... well... showgirl.

I probably wouldn't have an event for this movie had it not been for its modern reappraisals, so let's discuss whether Showgirls was truly a misunderstood piece of insightful commentary on gender, sex work, and the American Dream.
