Dear Evan Hansen is the 2021 film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical of the same name, and while there have been several successful stage-to-screen adaptations, this is not considered by many to be one of them.
Heavily panned for its casting, direction, and handling of mental health, this film doesn't appear to provide a tender depiction of a teenager's struggles with anxiety and depression.
I'll try to secure us a table on the top floor outside at Boxyard RTP, but if the weather doesn't look too good, I may move the disucssion to a nearby coffee shop. Also, we'll set aside the first 20 minutes or so for folks to order food/drinks before we get to the disucssion.
