Saturday Lower Intermediate & Above - Doubles Badminton Session (in Balham)

NEW starting in September - every Saturday (apart from 20th September) - 12:00-13:55pm in Balham

Come and join us for doubles badminton at the sports hall at Chestnut Grove Academy in Balham.

Only 1 minute walk from Balham tube and overground stations.

Aimed at lower intermediate players and above, we play for 2 hours (with 5 mins of setup) on 3 courts, using feather shuttlecocks.

Badminton Friends is a casual but organised group for people who enjoy friendly doubles with others and can already play at a reasonable level, with an emphasis on good sportsmanship and friendly, respectful games. You don’t need to be an expert, but some experience is expected — this helps keep the games flowing and fun for everyone.

We are therefore aiming for players of lower intermediate and above.

Come and have fun, improve your game, make new friends, all the while keeping fit.

Please bring drinking water with you to stay hydrated, and bring your own rackets.

We have a 12 hours cancellation policy. Please pay when you RSVP to guarantee your spot, otherwise your space will be made available to others. No cash payments please.

You are responsible for your own health and wellbeing, and is recommend you warm up and stretch at the start and end of the session. The club nor the academy will be liable for any injury or loss to personal possessions at any time.

Please note: We're currently unable to accept beginners.
Due to member feedback and the fact that we only run one session per week (on Saturdays), we need to prioritise players with some experience in order to keep games flowing and enjoyable for everyone. We appreciate your understanding, and if we're able to add more sessions in the future, we hope to welcome beginners then.
