Alfriston and Seaford Circular - 13 miles

Details
This scenic downland and coastal walk ascends from Alfriston, passes around Rathfinny, and on via Hope Gap up to Seaford Head. The path then descends again and follows along the promenade to our late lunch stop in Seaford, where there is a choice of cafés, pubs and shops. Afterwards, we head up through East Blatchington, before descending to Greenway Bottom to return over the downs to Alfriston. Hilly, with approximately 1,550 feet of ascent in total.
Pace: M (Moderate)
Cars required. It now appears that the roads around our regular meeting point near to the Rose Garden at the South end of Preston Park, Brighton, will be closed because of the Marathon. Kindly post a comment here if you are able to offer any members a lift from another location, also stating time of departure. Leaders will be going directly to the starting point.
Some parking is available in local roads near to the school. If you are leaving a vehicle in the long stay car park in North Street, Alfriston, then factor in an extra 5 minutes to get here. The walk will start promptly.
NB. Travel expenses are divided equally between the driver and the passengers, with the rate currently being 30p per mile for car sharing arrangements.
