Arundel Circular - 9.5 miles

The morning part of the walk will roughly follow the Arun River to Houghton Bridge (with some inland deviation through Offham and South Stoke). Lunch is a picnic at Houghton Bridge. There is also the option for supplementing your lunch with some food or a drink at one of the two cafes/pubs in Houghton Bridge. The afternoon part of the walk joins the Monarch’s Way on the west side of the Arun River before entering Arundel Park. There is a steep climb (with rewarding views) in Arundel Park, followed by undulating open country. We will exit the park into the town of Arundel, which offers plenty of options for a post walk beverage.

The meeting point is the Museum at Mill Road car park. Parking costs £5 and payment can be made by card at a machine or by the Sippi app. There is also free street parking along Mill Road but you may have to drive quite a distance to find a sport. Public transport is available but limited. There is a Southern service train from Brighton at 8.30am, arriving at Arundel Station at 9.54. The meeting point is a 15 minute walk from the station. Ramblers with cars are encouraged to offer lifts.
